Since its establishment in 1915, the company has grown into a versatile organisation active in the areas of sea, air and land transportation, and has gained prominence mainly as a shipping company specialised in short-sea, shopping, physical distribution, multi-purpose distribution, terminal operators for RoRo and passenger vessels. The company's strategy is to offer its clients the widest possible range of services to answer the need for ŽOne Stop Shipping`. VCK has its own terminal with covered storage, the Scandia Terminal, which is fully tuned to modern Roll-on/Roll-off traffic. The company also has offices at Schiphol Airport, in Rotterdam and Singapore. Forwarding activities, both over sea as by air are bundled in a total package of services know as Sea and Air. This integrated service provision allows VCK to provide tailor-made solutions where price and speed are keywords.
 In addition, VCK has developed as an independent travel agency. Under the name VCK Travel B.V. the company provides such travel plans as Business Travel, Crew Travel And Group and Incentive Travel while VCK zeereizen (Sea Travel) acts as general agent for ferry and cruise operators. All the is experience in the areas of shipping, air cargo and travel is concentrated in a team of experts that provides consultancy services in the areas of cargo handling and equipment, physical distribution, stockcontrol an bonded warehousing, agencies, forwarding and haulage, administration and automation and management for all transport activities.
